Renowned Hungarian Pharmaceutical Company Upgrades Its Szolnok Plant

Hungary Today 2023.11.13.

Béres Pharmaceuticals Ltd. has created 24 new jobs in Szolnok (central Hungary) thanks to an investment of HUF 8.3 billion (EUR 22 million). Speaking at the handover ceremony, Finance Minister Mihály Varga noted that one of the government’s important economic policy principles is that the supported developments serve regional equalization.

“The crises of the past years have shown that sovereignty is essential for Hungary, both politically and economically,” stressed Finance Minister Mihály Varga at the inauguration ceremony of the new Béres Pharmaceuticals Plant in Szolnok, Világgazdaság reports. In the current investment, that is partly supported by the government,

a state-of-the-art research and development laboratory of 680 square meters and an automated high storage warehouse of 4,120 square meters with a capacity of 6,000 pallets have been built.

In addition to office and social facilities, the development also includes a waste and hazardous waste storage building, in line with environmental standards. Furthermore, 24 new jobs were created in the area.

The Minister added that one of the government’s key economic policy principles is that the supported developments serve territorial equalization, while another objective is to create local jobs and preserve those already created. The issue of job creation in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok county was already particularly important at the time of the government change (2010), and over the past decade the region has managed to halve unemployment.

Béres products have been manufactured for 28 years in the company’s plant in Szolnok, with its own production, research and development and quality assurance background,

where – including the current investment – over HUF 25 billion (EUR 66 million) worth of developments have been made so far.
