Record-Breaking Offer in Budapest Airport’s Summer Schedule

Hungary Today 2025.03.31.

The 2025 summer season will bring the most diverse range of flights in Budapest Airport’s history. The 13.8 million seats and 136 direct flight destinations set a new record for Liszt Ferenc International Airport, reads a press release that also reports on the new flight schedule.

The airport operator has announced eleven new flight connections for the summer schedule, in effect since March 30. Wizz Air is launching new flights to Bilbao, Girona, Vilnius, Venice, Gdansk, and Wroclaw, while Ryanair to Castellón and Katowice. Among the new airline partners, Jazeera Airways is launching flights to Kuwait City, SCAT Airlines to Shymkent, and SAS Scandinavian Airlines to Copenhagen.

“We are proud to offer our passengers more destinations than ever before this summer, and I am confident that everyone will find the airline that best suits their needs to start their holiday.

Our new airline development strategy, coupled with VINCI Airports’ extensive network of airline partners, is already delivering very promising results,”

the press release quotes Francois Berisot, CEO of Budapest Airport.

“The record-breaking offer of the summer schedule will not only benefit Hungarian travelers, but will also further strengthen tourism in Hungary, for which we are experiencing steadily growing demand, thanks to Budapest’s attractiveness,” he added.

Traffic between Hungary and China is also continuing to grow,

with 357,300 seats available this season, 100,000 more than last year, an increase of 24 percent, they wrote.

Among existing airline partners, Lufthansa, Eurowings, KLM, and easyJet will significantly increase their capacities, while Aer Lingus and Aegean Airlines will increase the weekly frequency of their flights to five, improving connections to the United States and the Greek islands. The capacity increase to Israel will result in Budapest offering the most seats to and from Israel of any airport in the region this summer, the company added.
