Hungarian artistic company Recirquel’s cirque-danse production Solus Amor, will be performed three times between June 7 and June 9 at South Korea’s premier dance festival, the Busan Cinema Center’s main theater, according to Magyar Nemzet.
Recirquel, known for presenting over 300 performances a year, will headline and open South Korea’s prestigious dance festival. The 20th edition of the Busan International Dance Festival will showcase performances by forty companies from ten countries. Solus Amor, directed by Bence Vági, will make its Asian debut, marking a significant moment for the company.
In recent years, Recirquel has emerged as one of the world’s leading new circus companies, regularly featured at major arts festivals and prominent theaters across Europe and America.
Over the past two decades, the Busan International Dance Festival has introduced approximately a thousand dance works from over fifty countries across Asia, Europe, and Africa. This year’s opening performance will be Recirquel’s Solus Amor, which will grace the stage three times at the festival’s main venue, the 4,000-seat Busan Cinema Center’s main theater.
Solus Amor debuted in 2020, and explores themes of faith, love, nature, and the universe, blending elements of new circus, classical, and modern dance.
Having been performed in 13 countries, Solus Amor has toured significant contemporary dance and circus arts festivals in Europe and America in recent years.
