Recirquel’s Solus Amor Celebrates 300th Performance in Ljubljana

Hungary Today 2023.12.30.

On the eve of the New Year, Recirquel is set to captivate audiences with its acclaimed production, Solus Amor, at Ljubljana’s Cankarjev Dom, a prestigious cultural hub in Central Europe.

Directed by Bence Vági, this performance marks the fifth international staging of the show, with the December 31st performance in Slovenia marking the company’s impressive 300th show in 2023.

In a notable debut, Recirquel will grace the 1,500-seat venue, the largest cultural center in Slovenia. Solus Amor, a “cirque danse” masterpiece, has already enraptured audiences in five countries this year, including Brazil’s significant circus festival and the Cannes International Dance Festival, where Recirquel stood as the only Hungarian performer.

Premiered in 2020, Solus Amor is a monumental exploration of contemporary yearning for nature and wonder.

Blending new-circus, classical, and modern dance, the performance delves into themes of faith, love, nature, and the universe.

Combining awe-inspiring acrobatics with expressive dance, the show unfolds without a linear narrative, opting instead to probe the profound impact of love on humanity and the planet.

Recirquel concludes a triumphant year, boasting over 300 performances across Brazil, France, Sweden, Romania, Scotland, and Hungary.

Audiences can anticipate the next rendition of Solus Amor at Hungary’s Müpa Festival Theater on January 8.
