This year, the series of programs by the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra will visit 16 cities, bringing the most beautiful classical and film music melodies to home for the fourth time. The free open-air chamber concerts will take place on the first weekend of July and will be open to the public throughout the country.

The press release said that the series of programs entitled “Zenélő Magyarország” (“Musical Hungary”) will fill the country’s popular tourist destinations with live music on Saturday and Sunday. The program of woodwind, brass, and string chamber music ensembles will be tailored to the light-hearted weekend programs, so that visitors can enjoy the performances on summer evenings.

“I am confident that as in previous years, the weather will continue to favor the atmospheric concerts, providing a pleasant experience for local residents, and tourists,”

the summary quotes Márton Devich, Managing Director of the Hungarian Radio Arts Ensembles.

The orchestral musicians are preparing popular works: their brass ensembles will play Handel, Wagner, and John Williams, while the woodwind and string chamber music ensembles will perform works by Vivaldi, Bach, Boccherini, and Pachelbel, as well as Mozart.

The venues have been chosen to ensure that people in all regions of the country can enjoy live music,”

added Devich.

The stops are Hajdúnánás, Nyíregyháza, Mosonmagyaróvár, Pannonhalma, Kiskunhalas, Kiskőrös, Sümeg, and Zirc on Saturday, while on Sunday, the audience of Villány, Mohács, Zalaegerszeg, Körmend, Kőszeg, Sárvár, Gyula, and Mezőtúr will be able to enjoy classical music programs.

The detailed program of the national series of concerts is available on the website www.radiomusic.hu.
