Minister of Energy Csaba Lantos has announced that the government will launch a new program to support the energy development of domestic businesses, with over 440 billion forints (1.1 billion euros) available for applications.
In a video message on Monday, Csaba Lantos revealed that the government is launching a program called the Jedlik Ányos Energy Program, under which businesses will be able to apply for more than 440 billion forints.
The minister said that the program will include ten tender points for which companies can apply. Among these, he highlighted the following:
In addition, several calls for proposals will be aimed at increasing the use of geothermal energy and modernizing district heating systems,
he added.
According to Mr. Lantos, the program will strengthen Hungary’s energy independence and security of supply for domestic consumers, and protect the environment by promoting green energy production and storage.
However, the most important impact of the Yedlik Ányos energy program will be to reduce the utility expenses of domestic companies, thereby improving their competitive position,
he added.
“We have listened to the industry’s suggestions, the details have been worked out and the public consultation on the calls for tender will start soon,” the minister said.
