Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Liubov Vasilovna Nepop as Ukraine’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Hungary. The decree published by the Presidential Chancellery in Kyiv did not give a reason for the decision. However, it is known that the diplomat had conflicts with the Hungarian government. Some of her counterparts in other countries were also recalled without justification.

Liubov Nepop was ambassador in Budapest since 2016. Since the outbreak of the Ukraine war, she has repeatedly criticized the Hungarian government, for not having a common position with other EU countries, among other things.
The State Department summoned the ambassador in April for the following reason:
The recent statements of the Ukrainian President and Deputy Prime Minister of Hungary exceed the limits of what can be left unsaid.”
In addition to Nepop, ambassadors Andriy Melnyik of Germany, Vyacheslav Yaikov of Norway, and Yevgeny Perebynozha of the Czech Republic were recalled.
