President of the Hungarian Football Federation Takes Prestigious Position at UEFA

Hungary Today 2025.04.04.

At the UEFA Congress, Dr. Sándor Csányi, President of the Hungarian Football Federation (MLSZ), was appointed UEFA Treasurer with a status of Vice-President, the MLSZ announced.

The UEFA Treasurer is the highest financial position in the organization. Sándor Csányi will be responsible for the overall management and supervision of the organization’s financial activities, while also having the authority of Vice-President.

Sándor Csányi has been President of the MLSZ since 2010, and Vice-President of FIFA since February 2018.

He was also UEFA Vice-President between 2019-2023, and will play an important role in continental and global football in the future as Treasurer.

“As before, in my new role I will ensure that the financial resources available to me are always used for professional development. Financial processes are becoming increasingly important in international football. In many cases, however, the interests of the clubs differ from those of the associations and it is important to create and maintain a balance between the parties,” Csányi told MLSZ after his election.

The 49th Ordinary UEFA Congress, that took place in Belgrade, the Serbian capital, on Thursday, saw the election of members for positions on the UEFA Executive Committee and the FIFA Council, the highest decision-making bodies.
