Polish Allegro has entered the Hungarian market, and consumers can choose from over 150 million offers on the European online marketplace.
“The Hungarian expansion is a significant milestone in the company’s growth strategy in Central Europe. After the successful launches in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, more than 2.5 million active customers are already using the platform in these two countries,” stressed Matthias Frechent, Allegro’s commercial director.
On a year-on-year basis, Allegro’s consolidated adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) increased by 31.5 percent in the second quarter of this year to almost PLN 727 million (EUR 168 million).
Allegro is the largest online marketplace in Europe, with over 20 million active customers in the entire region, of which more than five million are users outside Poland.
The Hungarian site offers a wide range of categories, from electronics, home and garden furnishings, health and beauty products to car parts, books, and clothing, the company noted, pointing out that the online marketplace offers a wide choice of delivery options and accepts all popular payment methods, including cash on delivery.
