Shrek, the musical, will have its open-air premiere on the first two days of August at the Margaret Island Theater. The show is a joint production with the József Attila Theater.
Károly Nemcsák, director of the József Attila Theatre, said that after the two August performances on Margaret Island, the play will be staged at the József Attila Theater in Budapest’s city center from September 26. The popular musical is not only for children, but also for “adult children”, which is perhaps the most beautiful thing about the play, he added.

Margaret Island Theater will issue Fairy Tale season tickets, with Shrek, the Musical as one of the main attractions.
Vajk Szente, the director of the play, pointed out that the story has a fresh and cheeky sense of humor, in addition to its many lessons. He added that their job was not only to bring the story to life in a way that would satisfy those who loved the cartoon, but to also put a twist on it.
