PMO Head: Germany’s New Political Line in Conflict with Central Europe

MTI-Hungary Today 2021.11.26.

Germany’s new political line is in conflict “not only with the Hungarian government’s policy but with the views of central European societies, with all that they think about values, the family, (European) integration and migration”, the head of the Prime Minister’s Office told a conference on Thursday.

Gergely Gulyás said that the new German government’s programme “is not a European but a distinctly Western European programme”, which is “extremely far from what in the central part of Europe we think about the world and societies”.

The new German government “clearly wants a united states of Europe, but at least they are doing it openly, rather than through a stealthy stretching of the powers of European institutions and weakening the powers of member states”, he said.
