EY Hungary is establishing an artificial intelligence (AI) consulting center in Budapest. EY AI Confidence will provide an integrated approach to ensure that Hungarian and Central and Eastern European companies receive full support in the implementation of their various AI solutions, from strategy development to the implementation of applications. The center is headed by two international experts, Világgazdaság reports.
George Tilesch (György Tilesch), a global expert in corporate and government AI strategy and ethical AI, will lead the AI consulting center in Budapest together with Erik Slooten, an international leader with extensive experience in leading enterprise-level digital transformation. EY’s AI Confidence service will provide an integrated approach to ensure that companies are fully supported in the implementation of their various AI solutions, from strategy development to the implementation of completed applications.
The service has three main pillars:

said George Tilesch at this year’s AI Summit in Budapest, announcing EY Hungary’s new service.
EY has invested over USD 1 billion globally to become a leader in AI, both in terms of client support and technology capabilities.
The launch of the new AI business is a significant milestone in the life of EY Hungary. “I am particularly proud that we are launching a world-class service in Budapest that offers full-service AI consulting to domestic companies and multinationals with cross-border projects,” added Tamás Vékási, CEO of EY Hungary.
At the AI Summit, Tibor Navracsics, Minister of Public Administration and Regional Development, mentioned that in Hungary, artificial intelligence is already used by the National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV), the Hungarian Tourism Agency, and the local public services information system (IKIR). The technology has also been used in the European Capital of Culture program and in the model program for the development of the South Transdanubian region.
However, the 2022 Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI) puts Hungary below the EU average in terms of the share of digital public services, the integration of digital technologies, the digital readiness of human capital and even internet access, thus there is still room for improvement. Tibor Navracsics said that in order to reduce the gap, EU funding has already been used to launch programs to strengthen digital infrastructure and improve the digital skills of the Hungarian population. Public administration, for instance, is embarking on the digitalization path, and the Digital Citizenship program launched on September 1 is also a response to this need.
