Football: Peter Stöger Fired from Ferencváros

On Monday afternoon on their official website, Ferencváros announced the separation from Austrian head coach, Peter Stöger. According to the announcement, his two assistants Gerhard Fellner and Alexander Bade will leave the Hungarian club as well. Before Ferencváros, the Viennese worked for Austria Wien, Borussia Dortmund and 1. FC Köln.

The 55-year-old Stöger took over the club in early June and led it all the way to the Europa League group stage, where the team finished fourth behind Bayer Leverkusen, Real Betis, and Celtic, but beat Leverkusen at home in the final round. The Green-Whites are currently second in the Hungarian football league with a game in hand.
