According to Kicker, Germany’s leading sports magazine, only two of the Hungarian goalkeeper’s ‘colleagues’ performed better than Gulácsi in the previous season, putting him in the international class category, reports Csakfoci.hu.
Every six months, Kicker ranks the best players in the Bundesliga, divided into different categories. This summer, the renowned magazine started with goalkeepers, and its list includes a Hungarian player, as shown in a review on bulinews.com.
Péter Gulácsi was named the third best goalkeeper in the Bundesliga, putting him in the international class category, where he was only beaten by Gregor Kobel (Dortmund) and Lukas Hradecky (Leverkusen), while Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich) finished behind him.
In the national class category, Oliver Baumann (Hoffenheim), Kevin Müller (Heidenheim), Michael Zetterer (Werder Bremen), Alexander Nübel (Stuttgart) and Frederik Rønnow (Union Berlin) are all included. However, none of them were rated as world class by Kicker, which took the second half of the 2023/24 season into account in its current compilation.
