Permanent Exhibition of the House of Music Available in New Languages

Hungary Today 2024.02.06.

From February, the innovative sound system of the House of Music Hungary’s permanent exhibition has been expanded to include two new foreign languages and audio material to assist visually impaired visitors, Turizmus.com reports.

From February 1, French and German narration has been made available in the permanent interactive exhibition entitled Dimensions of Sound – Musical Journey through Space and Time at the House of Music Hungary. The exhibition presents the most important stages in the history of music with a European and Hungarian focus.

In addition to the new language options, an audio track has been added to help visually impaired visitors navigate the exhibition.

The exhibition on floor -2 of the House of Music tells the story of the evolution of music from ancient rhythms to the 21st century, through the cycle of life, passing through the most important turning points in music history and highlighting iconic artists.

The spectacle makes good use of technology and engages visitors in a playful way to provide new insights into music, so that all ages can find the exciting parts that appeal to them.

The House of Music Hungary opened its doors two years ago, and since then nearly 200,000 people have visited the Dimensions of Sound exhibition that has so far been available with narration only in Hungarian and English. Feedback from visitors from abroad has led to a demand for more language versions, so it was decided to introduce two new language options.

From Tuesday to Sunday, the exhibition is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with extended opening hours on Fridays until 8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance online or on site, subject to availability in the time slot.
