After only two months, former world-class striker turned coach, Andriy Shevchenko, might be given the boot from Genoa FC. The club is currently in 19th place in Serie A, despite aiming much higher at the start of the season. The Ukrainian, who came to the club mid-season after a disastrous start, signed his contract until 2024, but they have not been able to win any of the club’s 9 Serie A matches with him at the helm. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the club now has its sights set on German Bruno Labbadia, Frenchman Rudi Garcia, and Hungarian Pál Dárdai as successor candidates.

Dárdai last managed Hertha BSC for ten months. At his second stint at the struggling Berlin club, he kept them in the Bundesliga in the 2020/21 season. However, after a chaotic transfer season concluding in another relegation battle, the Hungarian was shown the door at the end of November 2021. He previously coached the Berliners once between 2015 and 2019 and was also head coach of the Hungarian national team between 2014 and 2015, helping them achieve qualification for EURO2016.
