Viktor Orbán Meets IAAF President to Discuss Biggest Sporting Event in Hungary’s History

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán met with World Athletics (IAAF) President Sebastian Coe in Budapest on Sunday, the PM’s press chief revealed.

Sebastian Coe, who visited Budapest for the ongoing World Aquatics Championships, discussed preparations for the 2023 World Athletics Championships with the Prime Minister at his private residence.

The third biggest sporting event in the world, the World Athletics Championships, will be hosted by Budapest August 19-27, 2023.

It will be the biggest sporting event in Hungary’s history, with athletes from more than 200 countries and news of the event reaching more than a billion people,”

the PM’s press chief said.

The Hungarian Prime Minister and the athletics chief have agreed that the event’s organization was progressing on schedule.
