Prime Minister Viktor Orbán held talks with Jaroslaw Kaczynski, deputy prime minister of Poland and leader of the Law and Justice (PiS) party, in Warsaw late on Wednesday, Orbán’s press chief Bertalan Havasi said, confirming photos posted about the meeting on PiS’s website.
Earlier in the day, Orbán participated in a Visegrad Group prime ministers’ meeting in Katowice where the V4 rotating presidency was passed over ceremonially from Poland to Hungary. Hungary is holding the presidency from July 1 for a year.
Later on Wednesday, Orbán and Polish counterpart Mateusz Morawiecki laid a wreath in Katowice at the momument of József Antall Sr and Henryk Slawik who helped Polish refugees and rescued Jews in Hungary during World War Two.
