Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, the leader of Hungary’s ruling Fidesz party, has been re-elected as vice president of the Centrist Democrat International (CDI), a Christian democratic political formation.
Orbán was re-elected at the organization’s general meeting in Brussels, Orbán’s press chief, Bertalan Havasi, said on Friday.
CDI’s website shows that its current president is Andres Pastrana Arango of Colombia, and its Secretary General is Antonio Lopez-Isturiz White, a Spanish MEP who is also Secretary-General of the EPP. Among European prime ministers, Slovenia’s Janez Jansa and Croatia’s Andrej Plenkovic are also CDI vice presidents.
