The Energy Emergency Operational Board has met to take an overall view of the international and domestic energy market situation, the Ministry of Energy announced.

Hungarian families can heat and light their homes by paying the lowest gas and electricity prices in Europe.

Officials from the Ministry of Energy also informed the Operational Board on the progress of the Solar Plus Program. More than 24,000 pre-registrations have already been received for the scheme, which encourages the production and storage of green energy, the statement said.

Speaking at the 2024 Hydrogen Open international conference at the end of last week, Minister of Energy Csaba Lantos stated that the government’s top priority is to ensure Hungary’s energy independence. Regarding the state of green energy in Hungary, he mentioned that the sector is currently in the research and development phase. However, by the end of last year, 5,600 megawatts of solar panels had already been installed. It is important to note that the Solar Energy Plus Program is a comprehensive plan designed to offer financial support to households for the installation of solar panels and energy storage systems.
