Hungarian Olympic champion hammer thrower Balázs Kiss will be inducted into the USTFCCCA Collegiate Athlete Hall of Fame.
According to a statement on the website of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the 52-year-old Veszprém-born (western Hungary) athlete was unbeatable at the University of Southern California (USC) between 1993 and 1996, winning four national championships in a row – the fourth to do so in a single event – and triumphing in 1995 with a record of 81.94 meters, a record that still stands today.
Kiss holds the top eight all-time records, crowning his career with victory at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
The inauguration ceremony will take place on June 2, in Eugene, Oregon, on the first day of the University Championships.
