Out of thirty musicals, the Hungarian production Nikola Tesla – Infinite Energy won the award for best musical of the year at the 19th Daegu International Musical Festival (DIMF) in South Korea.
At the festival, held from June 20 to July 7, the Hungarian musical received a rating of 9 out of 10, with composer Áron Sebestyén accepting the award on behalf of TBG Production, the company responsible for communications, MTI revealed on Tuesday.
TBG Production’s performance was shown ten times at the Daegu Opera House, in Hungarian with English and Korean subtitles.
The main roles in the performance are played by Gergő Mikola, Máté Szabó, Anna Györfi, Armand Kautzky, Ádám Lux, and Nikolett Füredi. The production was directed by Denise Radó, with music by Áron Sebestyén, written by Zoltán Egressy, and lyrics and dramaturgy by Péter Sziámi Müller. The choreographer was Anikó Szabó, and the creative concept and libretto were by Tibor Vona.
