Night of the Zoos to Offer Exciting Educational Activities

A number of programs, including educational and craft activities, an astronomy demonstration, an adventure tour and a concert await visitors on August 30, the Night of Zoos at the Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden. The zoo will be open from 7 p.m. until 12 a.m.  

The program includes light painting, educational and craft activities, a bravery test, face painting, a selfie point, fortune telling, astronomy and firefighting show. Visitors can try out the games in the ‘Vurstli’ zone, including the Schäftner carousel, which is over 110 years old.

The program includes a sea lion and elephant training session, and visitors can also watch a shark, Persian leopard and lion feeding.

The stage will feature a wheel of fortune, a fire juggling show and a concert by the Strokes band.

Over the course of the evening, there will be more than a dozen educational presentations in four venues. There will be talks on the 158-year history of the Budapest Zoo, on the Biodome, the secret lives of animals, and the zoo’s elephants. There will also be pig in a poke and a presentation on astronomy.

A limited number of discounted advance tickets for the Night of the Zoos in Budapest are available online and at ticket offices until August 19.

In addition to the Budapest Zoo, there will be evening programs in Budakeszi, Győr, Jászberény, Kecskemét, Miskolc, Pécs, Nyíregyháza and Veszprém.
