Following last year, 2025 will also be eventful for the Budapest hotel market, with several new hotels with unique profiles adding color to the capital’s offerings starting this spring. Nine new hotels are expected to open in Budapest this year, adding 800 new rooms, Turizmus.com reports.

“When it comes to hotel investments, Budapest is always a simpler and more marketable location than the countryside,” said Attila Hegedűs, partner and managing director of Prophex Europe Consulting.

The capital city had another great year in terms of tourism in 2024, and market players are working hard to ensure that Budapest stands out from its regional competitors.

Despite high operating costs, new developments offer good prospects for investors. According to international real estate services provider CBRE, the Budapest hotel market is expected to see significant growth in the coming years as tourism picks up. Nine new hotels with 800 new rooms are expected to open this year, and a further 3,700 rooms could open based on current investments.

The Mamaison Hotel Chain Bridge will officially open its doors on July 1, 2025. The four-star superior accommodation offers 54 uniquely designed suites named after the city’s most famous bridges. The lobby and bar is the center of social life, with a street terrace attached. The Sunbeam spa & fitness in the basement of the building is an oasis of calm. The opening of the You Are Hotel, converted from the former Stühmer chocolate factory and headquarters on Szentkirályi Street, has also been promised for this year. The building will be reborn as a four-star hotel, constructed by Swietelsky Hungary. A total of ninety-four rooms will be created in the building complex. The interior will be characterized by youthful contrasts, similar to one of the hotel chain’s properties in France: solid pastel-colored walls frame boldly colored furniture with striking metal structures, whose metal grilles and tubular frames are unified by atmospheric lighting.

The Three Corners Hotel Anna reopened on April 10, with a youthful new look. One of the most popular hotels in Budapest’s Palace Quarter underwent a complete renovation last year. The modernization not only increased capacity and revamped the aesthetics, but also brought functional improvements, resulting in a colorful, open, automated, and green accommodation. Thanks to the expansion of the building, the three-star superior hotel has gained a new floor, so it can now accommodate guests in fifty rooms.

Environmental awareness was also a priority during the development.

The development of the Lánchíd 19 Design Hotel is also planned for this year, with work having already begun in 2024, but no detailed information is available at this stage.
