Another huge Chinese factory, Jiecang Linear Motion, starts operating in Hungary. After Easter, things are ramping up at the €60 million plant in Kaposvár (southwest Hungary), reported Világgazdaság.
In just a few days, production will begin at the factory in Kaposvár. J-Star Hungary Motion utilizes robotics and employs local workers, selling mostly within Europe to partners in Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Austria, and Sweden, said director Toni Fang.
Following the trial run, full-scale production will start in mid-May. Initially, 100 employees will work on the production line, but once they switch to a two-shift system, that number will double, wrote Sonline.
Most of the employees are being recruited from Kaposvár, as the company aims to contribute to the city’s development.
They also plan to expand the Chinese factory in the future. They’re thinking in terms of Hungarian workers—not Chinese or other foreign employees—confirmed production manager István Németh. He explained that nearly all of their machines are almost 100% automated, using cutting-edge technology. Internal material handling is done with robots: one type transports pallet models, another, turtle-shaped robot lifts containers.
Only three people will be working in the massive warehouse. The northern industrial park is a key site in Kaposvár’s 21st-century reindustrialization, where the Szabó Gear Manufacturing Ltd. operates alongside the Chinese linear motor plant. Meanwhile, Mayor Károly Szita said that a Turkish glass factory is also being built in the eastern industrial park.
Károly Szita said that alongside the food industry, machinery manufacturing is the other strategically important sector for the town.
In addition to achieving full employment, our goal is to raise wages in Kaposvár.
The J-Star factory also helps us get closer to the goals we have set together. I wish all the workers there good luck and success!”, stressed the Mayor.
The J-Star Motion factory in Kaposvár is the company’s third facility in Europe.
The site in Kaposvár is being built for over €60 million, and the company expects to generate €80 million in revenue.
Jiecang Linear Motion Technology produces intelligent motion solutions for offices, medical applications, and smart homes. With €450 million in revenue, the parent company, headquartered in Jiecang, China, is a global leader.
