The North Pest Central Hospital – Military Hospital has taken over the care of four more patients injured in the nightclub fire in North Macedonia.
On Tuesday, the Defense Minister announced on Facebook that the Hungarian Defense Forces (HDF) are transporting additional patients injured in the weekend fire in North Macedonia to Hungary for treatment. Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky recounted that a terrible tragedy had befallen North Macedonia, where an explosion at a nightclub early Sunday morning killed 59 young people and injured at least 150.
Six young people between the ages of 20 and 30 are currently being treated at the hospital, three people at the Central Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care (KAITO), and three at the Burn Surgery Department.
On Tuesday night, four more patients from the North Macedonia fire were reported to arrive at the North Pest Central Hospital – Military Hospital.
The condition of those treated at the Burn Surgery Department is stable; they are receiving respiratory support, in addition to treatment for minor burns. The patient treated at KAITO is also in stable condition with minor burns and will soon be transferred to the Burn Surgery Department. The patients who arrived with the first transport are also in stable condition, but they still need intensive therapy.
According to the announcement, additional patients may arrive in Hungary, whose care can be provided by the Velkey László Children’s Health Center and the Bethesda Children’s Hospital.
