Kristóf Milák won the 200m butterfly on Saturday with the second best time in the world this year, and the next day he also triumphed in the 100m butterfly at the closing competition of the Mare Nostrum international swimming series in Monte Carlo.
The 24-year-old swimmer has returned after a year’s absence, competing last Wednesday after a long break from international competition. He also won the gold medal in the 100m butterfly at the second leg of the Mare Nostrum international swimming series in Barcelona on Wednesday.
In the 200m butterfly on Saturday, the Olympic champion and world record holder crossed the line in 1:53.94, beating world champion Honda Tomoru of Japan.
The Asian swimmer set the best time of 2024 in the final of the Doha World Championships with 1:53.88.
Kristóf Milák also won the 100m butterfly on Sunday, the final day of the competition, with a great time.
The Olympic silver medalist triumphed in 50.75 seconds to move up to fourth place in the world rankings, ahead of Hubert Kós and defending Olympic champion Caeleb Dressel (50.85).
Milák also competed in the 200m freestyle, finishing fourth with 1:48.02.
With just over a month to go until the start of the Paris Olympics, the Hungarian swimmer is looking more and more promising.
