The Mexican market offers enormous opportunities for Hungarian companies, primarily in the areas of water management, the food industry, and the pharmaceutical industry, said Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, on Wednesday in Mexico City.
The Hungarian-Mexican trade accounts for about two-thirds of the total trade between Hungary and Latin America, which broke a record last year and is now worth more than $2 billion.

“Mexico wants to become one of the world’s ten largest economies, and the development programs launched to this end provide excellent opportunities for Hungarian companies to succeed in the Mexican market, primarily in the fields of water management, the food industry, and the pharmaceutical industry,” he wrote.
“Last year’s record was mainly due to Gedeon Richter’s growing presence in Mexico, shipments of day-old chicks from Bábolna, and the increasing demand for Hungarian medical devices,” he continued.
“Next year’s World Cup will be an opportunity for Hungarian companies that have gained significant references during the organization of the World Cup in Qatar,” he added.
