Hungarian tennis player Márton Fucsovics won the Canberra Challenger hardcourt tournament on Saturday, with total prize money of 162, 480 dollars.
Fucsovics faced Leandro Riedi of Switzerland and won 7:5, 6:4 in an hour and a half. His rival had previously won 16 matches in a row.
Thanks to his victory in Canberra, Fucsovics moved up 14 places to 73rd in the latest world rankings for men’s tennis. There are two other Hungarians in the top 200: Zsombor Piros is currently ranked 171st and Fábián Marozsán 175th.
On Sunday, Márton Fucsovics was defeated in the first round of the qualifying for the Adelaide International 2 (total prize money of 642,700 dollars).
