Marco Rossi Will Lead the National Team until 2030

MTI-Hungary Today 2025.05.09.

The Hungarian Football Federation has extended Marco Rossi’s contract as national team manager until June 2030. The Italian coach, who also has Hungarian citizenship, has been in charge of the national team since June 2018, leading them to 34 wins, 17 draws, and 23 defeats in 74 matches.

“It is a huge honor for me to have such trust placed in me by extending my contract until 2030! I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate President Sándor Csányi on his re-election and to thank him for his support and trust, which also comes with a huge responsibility, given the expectations placed on us.

As always, I will continue to do everything in my power to meet these expectations and, where possible, exceed them,”

Marco Rossi emphasized.

The 60-year-old Italian won the league title with Budapest Honvéd in 2017, and qualified for the 2021 and 2023 European Championships with the national team.

In March, Rossi said he has been the Hungarian national team captain for almost seven years and has a very close relationship with the country and its people. “After I leave the Hungarian national team, I will no longer manage another national team again,” he stated then.
