A two-day Korean cultural festival will be held on Margaret Island On June 27 and 28, at the Crystal Theater, where visitors can enjoy free concerts, dance performances, culinary programs, and craft workshops on two stages, organizers told MTI on Monday.
The announcement stated that one of the festival’s highlights will be a performance by the vocal ensemble Sweet Sorrow, which rose to fame from the Yonsei University men’s choir, the Glee Club, on Saturday, June 28, at 7 p.m. The Korean theater troupe Kkokdugwangdae will also perform at the event. In addition to their main stage performances, they are also preparing parades, where they will perform together with several Hungarian artists. The productions will bring the lively atmosphere of the fairs to the entire venue, according to the information provided.
The audience will be able to see traditional Korean dances performed by the Mugunghwa, Nawoul, and Manwol dance groups. The Noremoá Korean-Hungarian choir will perform, and the Mindeulle band will play the most famous traditional Korean instrument, the kayagum.
The Crystal Theater’s exhibition hall will feature traditional craft stalls, beauty consultations, family and gastronomic programs, as well as music and dance courses. Participants can create art together with the Munbangsau group, whose members are representatives of the ancient Korean art of calligraphy in Hungary, learn about the cultural heritage of minhwa, or folk painting, and gain insight into the secrets of making jang and kimchi, which they will also be able to taste.
The event, co-organized by the Korean Cultural Center and the HanYou Foundation, will conclude with a K-pop party again this year.
