Key Aviation Industry Firm Announces Cooperation with Air Serbia

MTI-Hungary Today 2024.11.13.

The hangars of Aeroplex at Liszt Ferenc International Airport (Budapest) are full to capacity, indicating the company’s continued growth and successful international expansion, the Ministry for National Economy said in a statement on Wednesday. The ministry announced Aeroplex’s latest partnership agreement with Serbian national carrier Air Serbia, calling it another step in the company’s regional growth.

The framework agreement between the two parties for aircraft maintenance project for the next year reflects not only cooperation in aviation, but also the strengthening of Hungarian-Serbian economic and diplomatic relations. This milestone is a significant opportunity for Aeroplex to promote economic connectivity in the Central European region and consolidate its market presence in the region through the aviation industry, the statement reads.

Aeroplex, owned by the Ministry for National Economy, has over the years become one of the largest MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) providers in Europe.

The trust that is essential in the aviation industry is based on the results achieved and the high quality of the work, that is underpinned by the overhaul of two easyJet aircraft due to start soon, the ministry noted. After nearly five years of negotiations, easyJet’s aircraft have recently arrived at the Aeroplex facility, that could form the basis of another long-term partnership. Aeroplex is confident that the British airline will become a returning customer, along with DHL, Eurowings and Condor.

In addition to expanding its customer base, international expansion is a key element of Aeroplex’s growth strategy.

As part of this, the company opened a new base at Băneasa Airport in Bucharest in October this year, with the help of local service provider Romaero. The ambitious project has got off to a successful start, with Aeroplex and Romaero specialists already carrying out the maintenance of the second aircraft on site.

The ministry considers that the opening of Bucharest could be followed by other stations not only in Romania but also in other countries in the Central European region, including Western markets.
