Kerkez Voted Player of August at AFC Bournemouth

MTI-Hungary Today 2023.09.18.

Not a week had passed since Kerkez was praised on the AFC Bournemouth website for his performance in the Hungarian national team against the Czech Republic. It has now been reported that Bournemouth fans in the English football league have voted him player of the month for August.

The 19-year-old Hungarian international player joined Bournemouth from Dutch AZ Alkmaar in the summer and has started all five of their league games so far.

Kerkez, a 10-time international, who is one of the best sprinters in the Premier League according to statistics, attended the club’s pre-match press conference ahead of Sunday’s clash against Chelsea, where he said he expects a very tough match and believes the team that fights harder on the pitch will take the three points.

The match ended in a draw, with neither team scoring a goal.

Bournemouth’s website described the battle between Milos Kerkez and Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling as a great one. The 19-year-old talent emerged victorious on several occasions, but then received a yellow card in the 62nd minute, which is believed to be the reason why his coach substituted him in the 74th minute.

Since making his debut in the English top-flight, the young footballer has continued to prove his talent. In his first match in the Premier League against West Ham, the young player was phenomenal with 40 passes, four assists, and six turnovers.

He was deservedly voted player of the match.

After the game against Liverpool, Kerkez’s performance for Bournemouth was rated 5.0 out of 10 by The Daily Mail and a 6/10 by The Sunday Times. These ratings indicate that the player has a huge career ahead of him and is already highly successful, despite being only 19 years old.

Fact

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has named 40 players aged 21 or under who they believe have the potential to conquer European football in 2023. The list, drawn up by experts, included Kerkez, pointing out that he has proven himself not only in the Dutch league, but also in the European Conference League and the Nations League. Besides UEFA, Kerkez has attracted the attention of the CIES Football Observatory in Switzerland as well, recently ranking him among the world’s most promising under-21 players in their latest study.
