Following his performance in Hungary’s friendly match against Czech Republic, Milos Kerkez, the Hungarian footballer of Premier League side AFC Bournemouth, has received words of praise from his club.

According to the article, the 19-year-old winger, “showed why he is one of Europe’s brightest talents.” In the 52nd minute, Kerkez delivered a powerful and perfect cross from a throw-in, which was headed into the goal by Roland Sallai.

The article points out that

the Hungarian footballer won all his duels in the 1-1 draw, with four tackles, three clearances, and two fouls.

Kerkez joined England from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar in the summer and has been a starter in all four of their league games so far. The Premier League club payed €18 million for him.

This is not the first time, and definitely not the last, that Kerkez has been praised for his game.

In his first match in the Premier League against West Ham, the young player was phenomenal with 40 passes, four assists, and six turnovers.

He was deservedly voted player of the match. After the game against Liverpool, Kerkez’s performance for Bournemouth was rated 5.0 by The Daily Mail and a 6 by The Sunday Times. These ratings indicate that the player has a huge career ahead of him and is already highly successful, despite being only 19 years old.

Fact

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has named 40 players aged 21 or under who they believe have the potential to conquer European football in 2023. The list, drawn up by experts, included Kerkez, pointing out that he has proven himself not only in the Dutch league, but also in the European Conference League and the Nations League. Besides UEFA, Kerkez has attracted the attention of the CIES Football Observatory in Switzerland as well, recently ranking him among the world’s most promising under-21 players in their latest study.

The good performances of players like him and Dominik Szoboszlai greatly increase the market value and transfer chances of young Hungarian footballers. They help to build their image, and it is small steps like these that help to raise the international profile of Hungarian players.
