Budapest Mayor Karácsony Gets Third Covid Vaccine Jab

Gergely Karácsony, Mayor of Budapest, announced on Saturday that he has been inoculated with his third jab of the coronavirus vaccine. 

In a Facebook post, the Budapest mayor shared a picture of himself getting vaccinated, saying in the post’s caption; “I also got the third jab yesterday.”

Karácsony did not specify which type of vaccine was administered, but he invited everyone to listen to Hungary’s health professionals and get vaccinated.

The pandemic is once again on the rise with this new wave, and our best chance of defending against it is if we all get vaccinated.”

Hungary was the first country in Europe to allow the inoculation of third jabs, also known as booster jabs due to their addition to the immunity of a fully vaccinated individual. It is recommended that the third jab be administered at least fourth months after the second jab. It is especially important for the elderly, who are more vulnerable to the virus.
