Hungary has so far fully implemented the commitments it made last August regarding the EU’s conditionality procedure, Justice Minister Judit Varga said on Thursday after receiving French EU affairs minister Laurence Boone, MTI reports.

“We are also very close to an agreement with the European Commission on the judicial package, and we see no more open political issue remaining,” Judit Varga wrote on Facebook.

Outlining the priorities of Hungary’s EU presidency in the second half of 2024, she told Boone that “Hungary has identified demography and competitiveness as the main priorities.”

She said the two countries shared “points of contact” that could foster close cooperation during the presidency. “Hungary supports and will continue to support constructive cooperation,” Varga added.
