Acclaimed Canadian psychologist and author, Jordan B Peterson praised the Hungarian family policies in a recent tweet, pointing at tax incentives that the government has introduced.

I have seen nothing elsewhere to match the depth of thought that the Hungarians have out into their family policies”,

Peterson wrote on Twitter.

“Women are exempted from income tax 25-100% lifetime as they have children. This helps equalize the disproportionate burden they have to bear reproductively. This has INCREASED their labour force participation. The Hungarians have decreased abortion and divorce rates and stopped the decline in birth rates. (President) Katalin Novák is to be credited as well as the Orbán administration”, the Canadian author wrote.

Jordan B Peterson has visited Hungary several times in the past, where he met President Katalin Novák and Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. He is a strong proponent of the type of family policies, which incentivize family creation and child birth through financial help and through strengthening a traditional family narrative where a father and a mother take center stage in raising their children, as well as deciding about the particulars of their upbringing.
