A joint Ukrainian-Hungarian project aimed at improving healthcare education was launched at the beginning of the year in Miskolc, in cooperation with the Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County Central Hospital and University Teaching Hospital, and the Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University, the hospital informed MTI.

According to the information provided, the cooperating parties have received €544,852.28 in funding for the program. The partners will implement developments related to health education between January 2025, and December 2026.

The Miskolc hospital will use the investment to develop its Skill Lab and Vocational Training Center by purchasing simulation models.

In addition, training courses will be held to expand the range of vocational training in the fields of resuscitation in hospital conditions, vein access, and cardiac and cerebral catheterization. According to the announcement,

the hospital will also organize various first aid training courses for interested members of the public.

The Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University is setting up a new training center for basic health education with the purchase of modern health education tools. These will be used to provide training not only to university students but also to paramedics, police officers, and workers of aid organizations.

The training will cover several areas of patient care, such as therapy, nursing, simulations, surgery, trauma care, obstetrics and gynecology, as well as pediatrics and neonatology. Another goal of the project is for the two institutions to produce short training videos in three languages—English, Hungarian, and Ukrainian—and to organize regular professional workshops “to develop best practices and share training experiences.”
