Event organizers announced that the Miskolc Ballet has once again invited performances by renowned choreographers and ensembles. Each performance presents an interesting slice of the international and national dance scene.
In addition to a wide variety of Hungarian dancers, the Nuovo Balletto Di Toscana will perform a production of “Die Bajadere” in Miskolc (northeastern Hungary).
The Horizont International Contemporary Dance Festival, starting on April 23, will open with the Miskolc Ballet’s performance of The Power of Love (A szerelem hatalma (Abélard és Héloise)).
Visitors will also be able to see GG Tánc Eger’s Shakespeare adaptation of As You Like It (As You Like It Reloaded). In addition, the Central Europe Dance Theater will treat little ones to a children’s play entitled Kócbaba, by Judit Halász, inspired by one of the songs by the singer.
On the final day, the organizers are preparing a gala performance to mark International Dance Day,
at the initiative of Zoltán Zsuráfszky, a dance artist.
The gala event, entitled Hazai Pálya (“Home Track“), will feature local dance performers and will be joined by a surprise guest from the Serbian National Foundation for Dance. Vera Éder and Samu Mihály Gálos will open a photography exhibition entitled Silent Bodies. The exhibition features dance artists from the Miskolc Ballet. It will be on display at the Miskolc National Theater until the end of the season.
