From this autumn, the Mathias Corvinus Collegium (MCC), Hungary’s largest multidisciplinary college founded in 1996 on a private initiative, is launching a unique education program in Dunajská Streda (Dunaszerdahely), southern Slovakia. Hungary’s largest talent management network offers world-class, in-school, free education for the most talented primary and secondary school students – reported Dunaszerdahelyi.sk.
MCC’s Young Talent Program (FIT) for primary school students is open to applications now from Hungarian-speaking Slovakian students as well, who will start their fifth year of primary school in September. The first deadline for applications is 30 June. Experience shows that places fill up fast, so parents are advised to register early. The courses are held in Hungarian language. The students starting fifth grade in autumn can submit their applications via fit.mcc.hu. Parents should also briefly describe their child’s outstanding abilities, behavior and interests, in a letter of recommendation. The FIT program for primary school children provides an environment for children who are inquisitive, open-minded, brave and determined to develop their talents.
Drone flying, robot programming, astronomy, physics, chemistry and biology experiments, literature and languages: students in the FIT program will benefit from an unrivaled wealth of training opportunities, all free of charge.
FIT sessions will take place every second Saturday, providing eight sessions per semester. During the training sessions, the children will be taught by qualified teachers and the MCC will provide lunch for the young students. In addition, pupils can take free English and Slovak language courses.
The MCC’s program for secondary school students, KP, offers a unique opportunity for all students who will be attending secondary school in the coming academic year, regardless of their grade. Those who will start high school in September can also apply. More information about the Secondary School Program and an application form can be found on kp.mcc.hu.
MCC’s High School Program is designed to complement the high school curriculum to help students from the Hungarian minority choose a career, prepare them for success in further education, and support them in planning a longer-term career path. In addition to scholarships, plenty of trips abroad, language learning, exciting, customizable online courses (literature, law, economics, psychology, international studies and many more), MCC will bring the most prominent personalities in Hungarian public life to high school students in Dunaszerdahely for on-the-spot sessions.
MCC KP is built on three pillars. Customizable e-learning materials, KP club afternoons at the MCC headquarters in Dunaszerdahely, and the so-called KP Saturdays, where students can meet the most outstanding Hungarian scientists and well-known public figures. In addition, MCC KP students can take part in free language courses, scholarships, research opportunities, winter and summer camps, as well as other travel opportunities and excursions.
