Hungary Central Bank Hikes Base Rate by 30 Base Points

Hungarian central bank rate-setters hiked the base rate by 30 basis points to 2.40 pc at a regular policy meeting on Tuesday.

The National Bank of Hungary’s Monetary Council also raised both sides of the interest rate corridor by 30 basis points to 4.4 percent.

Analysts: Curbing Inflation Will Take a Long Time

However, they think that inflation may have reached its peak in November with a 14-year record high of 7.4 percent.Continue reading
