Hungarians Dominate Teqball World Series in Beijing with Multiple Victories

The Beijing leg of the Teqball World Series concluded with Apor Györgydeák winning the men’s singles, maintaining his undefeated streak this year, and Csaba Bányik securing victories in both the men’s doubles and mixed doubles events, reports Index.

On Sunday, the quarter-finals resumed in the tournament with the highest prize money (USD 60,000) of the year. Boldizsár Levik, after a strong performance on Saturday, lost to Poland’s Marek Pokwap in two sets and did not reach the semi-finals. In a notable match, Apor Györgydeák faced fellow world champion Ádám Blázsovics and won 2-0, advancing to the final.

Györgydeák, competing for Romania, solidified his unbeaten record of 36 wins in 2024.

In men’s doubles, Csaba Bányik and Balázs Katz faced the top Thai duo, in a match where the Chinese audience enthusiastically applauded their impressive rallies. The Hungarian pair won 2-1 after a thrilling encounter.

Hungarian dominance continued in mixed doubles, with three of the four semi-finalists being Hungarian. In the final, Krisztina Ács and Csaba Bányik won in three sets against Gabriella Kota and Balázs Katz.

The Teqball World Series will conclude in Budapest, Hungary, from October 3 to 6.
