The Hungarian passport has moved up to seventh place in global rankings, meaning that Hungarian citizens can now travel to even more countries without a visa, the latest Henley Passport Index reports.
The ranking is based on up-to-date data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and is updated monthly. Currently, 199 passports and 227 destination countries are being examined. The list is compiled based on how many countries a given passport allows visa-free entry to.
As a Hungarian citizen, you can currently travel to 185 countries without a visa. This is an improvement of one place from the previous eighth place.

Hungary is now in the same category as countries such as Australia, the Czech Republic, Malta, and Poland. By comparison, among neighboring countries, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Croatia are ninth in the ranking, with 183 visa-free destinations. Romania ranks 13th (177 countries), Ukraine 29th (147 countries), while Serbia ranks only 34th, with just 138 destinations.
