Hungarian Opera and Ballet Return to Dubai with Exclusive Season Opener

Hungary Today 2025.07.09.

The Dubai Opera and the Hungarian State Opera House have announced an extraordinary collaboration for the 2025–2026 season. As part of the season opener, the Opera House orchestra and artists from the Hungarian National Ballet will perform Puccini’s La Bohème, Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, and Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake in the United Arab Emirates, Index reported.

The program series will further strengthen artistic ties between the two countries, create new opportunities for young talent, and offer opera lovers a unique experience in the stunning city of Dubai. To mark this collaboration, the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Budapest announced that it has organized three prize packages for the Hungarian audience to enjoy the performances in Dubai. Each package includes two airline tickets, three nights’ accommodation, two VIP tickets to one of the performances, and organized tours of Dubai’s beautiful sights.

The prize draw will take place on August 8. It is sponsored by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, Dubai Opera, FlyDubai, and Emirates Airlines.

His Excellency Saud Al-Samsi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Budapest, said of the collaboration:

“Once again, we are witnessing the cooperation between the great institutions of the United Arab Emirates and Hungary to bring our nations closer together through their unique and outstanding arts. The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Hungary, with the help of its partners, is offering the opportunity to visit Dubai and celebrate the international success of the Opera House and Ballet Institute in Dubai.”

This is the second collaboration between Dubai Opera and the Hungarian State Opera House and National Ballet Institute. The first took place in 2023, when sold-out performances of Swan Lake and The Butterfly Princess were held.
