Hungary has been a member of the NATO Flying Training in Canada (NFTC) program since 2002. During this time, many members of the Hungarian Defense Forces have participated in the various levels of pilot training, Honvédelem.hu portal reports.

NFTC is a military flight training program for NATO and allied air forces provided by the Canadian Forces.

At present, three Hungarian instructors are serving at the Canadian bases and six trainees are participating in the program. Lieutenant Botond Róth and Lieutenant Áron Soós-Nagy successfully completed Phase III last July and received their wings, and are currently continuing with Phase IV.

On 14 December 2022, Bence Simó and Bálint Novák, both military officer candidates, also received their “wings”.
