The annual London Spirits Competition is one of the most prestigious international competitions in the world of spirit drinks. This year’s edition was a Hungarian success: the gold medalists included a Hungarian specialty, Árpád Classic Gin, made by Árpád Pálinka Manufaktúra, reports Turizmus.com.
The London Spirits Competition aims to highlight and reward spirit drinks that are not only of high quality, but also of real value to consumers. The scoring is based on three criteria: quality, presentation, and whether the product is offering value for money.
“Quality is of course of paramount importance: the beverages entered undergo a rigorous chemical analysis, but they also have to be a real pleasure to sip, with a balanced alcohol and acidity content,” says the winning brewery in a statement. In addition, the appearance of the drink is also significant: an aesthetically pleasing bottle with a special design can be a bar’s showpiece and consumers are more likely to buy it off the shelf. And finally, the beverages also need to ensure that customers really get value for money.
Árpád Classic Gin excelled in all categories, making the product the only one from Hungary to be proudly hailed as a gold medal winner.
Every year, Hungarian producers enter gins and other spirits in the competition. These are usually products that have been launched on the market before, so the feedback from consumers can already show if the beverage is to their liking. However, the Árpád Pálinka Manufaktúra decided to test their products before they went on sale, and their boldness has produced very positive results. In addition to the gold medal for the Árpád Classic Gin, the other gin entered,
the Árpád Paprika Gin, made from Hungary’s iconic spice, won a silver medal.
