In a secret vote before the start of the season, RB Leipzig’s Willi Orbán was elected team captain by the players, Hungarian sports website M4 Sport reports based on German Bild. The Hungarian national football team’s defender takes over the armband from Péter Gulácsi, also member of the national team.
Willi Orbán will not be an unusual addition to the armband, which he has worn since Péter Gulácsi’s knee injury last October, the only difference is that he is now the first choice captain. Péter Gulácsi will only start training with the team next week and it is not known when he will be back in the goal.
RB Leipzig played the German Super Cup final against Bayern Munich at the weekend, beating defending champions Munich 3-0, where English national team captain Harry Kane has just arrived. Dani Olmo scored all three goals for Leipzig.
Willi Orbán is now a two-time German Cup winner and German Super Cup winner.

Leipzig did not forget their former Hungarian player Dominik Szoboszlai, who joined Liverpool in the summer. According to the pictures, the German team members called Dominik Szoboszlai in a video call after the win to tell him the news.
Meanwhile, Liverpool kicked off their Premier League season at the weekend with a 1-1 draw against Chelsea, with Dominik Szoboszlai playing the whole game.
