The Hungarian adult delegation won seven medals at the European Shooting Championships held in Győr (northwestern Hungary). There were also two junior victories for the Hungarian team at the event.

On the first day of the tournament, Bálint Kálmán won the gold medal in the 10m Air Rifle Men Junior event. He was not the only contender who secured a medal in a junior category. In the 10m Air Pistol Women Junior event, Olivia Domsits won the bronze medal on Tuesday. After the 20th shot, Domsits was tied with her Czech opponent, but in the shoot-off, the Hungarian competitor was 10.3 rounds better, and with 215 rounds in total she won the second national medal in Győr.

The adult national team’s beautiful performance and winning streak began on Thursday:

The Hungarian trio of Sára Ráhel Fábián, Miriam Jákó, and Veronika Major won the gold medal in the 10m Air Pistol Trio competition.

The Hungarian team, silver medalists at last year’s World Championships, finished the event with 1,709 laps and won the gold medal with a six-lap lead over the second-placed Ukrainians. “Only the Chinese beat us at the World Championships last year, so the reality was that the girls had to win,” said coach Györgyi Pál-Plichta about the triumph.
