Hungarian Company to Revolutionize Stem Cell Donation

Hungary Today 2023.12.12.

Gloster Infocommunications’ subsidiaries Gloster-Minero IT and FF Next Technologies have signed a cooperation agreement with the German Red Cross to develop a special software for the electronic registration of bone marrow donor and stem cell genetic data, in compliance with the strict German health requirements, reports Világgazdaság.

The aim of the project is to create a digital platform tailored to the needs of the Red Cross, enabling a revolutionary new electronic registry of genetic data of bone marrow donors and the stem cells they donate. The system will play a critical role in the success of bone marrow transplants, that are key to the treatment of serious diseases such as leukemia.

The system to be developed by Gloster will enable efficient donor data management, including unique genetic HLA characterization information and stem cell origin.

The system pays particular attention to the accurate and safe registration of stem cells for bone marrow transplants, ensuring a higher success rate of transplants.

The project also aims to create a new globally accessible, administrative web interface and backed infrastructure that will connect the donor centers and their users’ data, that have been operating separately until now, taking into account German healthcare regulations and data protection guidelines.

Gloster’s experts also developed the German voluntary blood donor system and the COVID registry systems.
