Hungarian Brands Showcased at Milan Fashion Week

MTI-Hungary Today 2024.09.23.

An exciting presentation of Hungarian fashion and creative industry brands, as well as artists, took place at Milan Fashion Week, at Casa degli Artisti in Milan, the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency (HDFA) said in a press release.

Hungarian brands presented an extended concept at Milan Fashion Week on September 19, with the professional support of the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI / Italian Fashion Council). At the Budapest Select Presentation, guests had the opportunity to discover Hungarian fashion, design and beauty products, alongside the talents of the next generation.

The event was hosted at the Casa degli Artisti art center, where five Hungarian fashion brands – Borbala, Cukovy, Kata Szegedi, Nanushka and Zsigmond – presented their latest Spring-Summer 2025 collections.

In addition to the big Hungarian brands that have already made an appearance in Milan before, emerging talents Judit Bárány, Chokassy and Solaer also made their debut.

As part of the Budapest Select Presentation, works by prominent designers and artists including &Famke, Anna Cserba, Balázs Veres, David Nemeth, Error n’ more, Hora, Julia Nema, Komonka, Meander, Mónika Üveges, Nora Szirmai, Petra Szondi, sarakele studio, Studio Arkitekter and UTO were presented. From the beauty sector, the luxury cosmetics brand Omorovicza was featured.

The release quotes Zsófia Jakab, Ministerial Commissioner responsible for the development and sectoral coordination of the creative industry and CEO of HDFA, as saying that the Budapest Select Presentation was a step up from the past Milan showcases, which provided an opportunity to broaden the knowledge of fashion and creative industry products. As she said, in line with Agency’s strategy, the event came with an expanded concept, not only to include fashion brands, but also focus areas of the domestic creative industry such as design and beauty.

Our aim for the future is to continue to encourage cross-sectoral collaborations and to increase the international visibility of domestic brands through international appearances such as these, thus helping them to enter foreign markets and increase their export potential,”

Zsófia Jakab stressed.

Carlo Capasa, President of CNMI, personally visited the selection of Hungarian brands, writes the press release. The event was attended by editors from international and Italian magazines, Vogue Italia, Elle Italia, iO Donna and NSS. Domestic brands also attracted the attention of buyers: in addition to Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman, representatives from Hay Hay Fashion Concept Store, Studiozeta and Spazio Showrooms viewed the exhibits.
